This Wanaka living area had heavy thermal ghosting — the dark shadowing that builds up on a ceiling above a wood burner — plus movement cracks around the coving.

We washed the ceiling with sugar soap, sealed it with Resene Sureseal to lock in the staining, caulked the coving cracks, taped the ceiling cracks, and finished with three coats of ceiling paint for a fresh, even white result.
