Cedar Refresh in Lake Hawea

This Lake Hāwea home had cedar cladding in mixed condition, with some areas weathered back and others still holding the previous stain. The aim was to restore an even, natural finish while protecting the timber from the local climate.

After a thorough wash and preparation, the cedar was carefully re stained to achieve consistent colour and coverage across all elevations. The work was carried out by hand to preserve the natural grain and character of the cedar, with close attention to detail around windows, doors, and exposed areas.

The result is a refreshed, well balanced finish that enhances the home’s appearance and provides lasting protection in Lake Hāwea’s alpine conditions.
